Connect Any AI-Built Site to a .gy Domain With One Prompt
Built a site with Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, ChatGPT or any other AI builder, and want it on your own .gy domain? You don’t need to learn DNS. Your builder’s AI already knows what its domain screen needs. Register.gy gives you the prompt to ask it, reads the answer, and sets everything up for you.
How it works
- Register your .gy domain at Register.gy. Keep the default “Park my domain for now” option and it goes straight onto free Register.gy DNS.
- In your Client Area, open Website, email & DNS. Under “Let your builder’s AI do it”, click Copy prompt. The prompt already includes your domain.
- Paste the prompt into your builder’s chat. It tells you where to add a custom domain and whether your plan allows it. Add the domain, and it lists the DNS records its domain screen shows.
- Paste that answer back into Register.gy and click Check the records. Tables, lists, “Type / Name / Value” blocks or plain sentences all work.
- Review and apply. You see exactly what will change before anything happens. Click Apply, go back to your builder and click Verify.
The prompt
The Client Area fills in your domain and nameservers for you. It looks like this:
I own the domain yourbusiness.gy. It's registered at Register.gy and its DNS is hosted there. I want this project to be live at yourbusiness.gy and www.yourbusiness.gy. Please: 1. Tell me exactly where to click to add a custom domain to this project, and whether my current plan allows it. 2. After I add yourbusiness.gy, give me every DNS record your domain settings screen shows, copied exactly: type, name (host) and value. Include any verification (TXT) record. Don't guess or use example values. 3. List them one per line, like this: A @ 1.2.3.4 4. Don't tell me to change my nameservers. I'll add the records at Register.gy.
What Register.gy does for you
- Reads the records out of whatever your builder or its AI wrote, and ignores the chat around them.
- Protects your email. Email (MX) records are never changed from a paste, so business email keeps working.
- Skips anything risky or wrong, like example values, records for a different domain or a nameserver change, and tells you why.
- Replaces old website records cleanly, keeps the records DNS-only so your builder can issue its https certificate, and supports a CNAME at the root of your domain.
- Lets you undo the change for 7 days with one click, and checks when your site is live.
Builders this works with
Any builder or host that gives you DNS records: Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0 and Vercel, ChatGPT-built sites, Netlify, Framer, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, GitHub Pages, Render, Railway and more. Lovable, Vercel, Netlify, GitHub Pages, Shopify and Squarespace also have one-click presets. See the connection guide for each builder.
Many builders only allow custom domains on a paid plan. Your builder’s AI tells you when you paste the prompt.
Questions
Do I need to know anything about DNS?
No. Copy the prompt into your builder’s AI, paste its answer into Register.gy, check the preview and click Apply. Register.gy works out which records to add, replace or skip.
What if the AI gives me the wrong records?
The prompt asks it to copy the records from your builder’s domain settings screen, not to guess. Register.gy also skips example values and records for other domains, shows you every change before it happens, and lets you undo for 7 days.
My builder says to change nameservers. Should I?
Usually not. Adding the records keeps your free Register.gy DNS, one-click email setup and instant changes. If you really need your builder’s nameservers, contact support and our team applies the change at the registry within one business day.
Will this break my email?
No. Email (MX) and SPF records are never changed from a paste. Only website and verification records are added or replaced.
How long until my site shows on my .gy domain?
Usually a few minutes after you click Apply. Your builder may take up to an hour to switch on https. The “Is it live?” button in the Client Area checks for you.
Don’t have your .gy domain yet?
Search for your name and register it in minutes, from GYD 9,500 or US$45 a year.
