This policy explains what personal information Register.gy collects, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. Register.gy is operated by Investigative Intelligence Solutions Inc. (IIS Inc.), Reg. No. 14926, Lot 295 Back Road, Soesdyke, Guyana. Contact: contact@iis.gy or +592-623-1721.
Information we collect
- Registrant details you give us when you register a domain: name, organisation (optional), email address, phone number and postal address, plus the nameservers you choose.
- Payment information. Card payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number. For MMG payments we receive the transaction reference and amount from MMG.
- Account and service data: the domains you hold, renewal dates, DNS records you create, support requests and the emails we send you.
- Searches you save. If you ask us to remember a domain you searched for, we store your email address and the domain so we can follow up.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, recorded in standard server logs for security and to keep the service running.
How we use it
- To register, renew, transfer and manage your domains, as required by the .gy Registry.
- To take payment and keep financial records.
- To send service emails: registration confirmations, renewal reminders, change notices and security alerts.
- To provide DNS, website connection and email features you turn on.
- To answer your questions and prevent fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
- The .gy Registry (University of Guyana) and its registry platform provider, which receive registrant details for every .gy domain. The registry publishes some of these details in the public .gy WHOIS, in line with its policies.
- Stripe (card payments) and MMG (mobile money payments).
- Cloudflare, if you use our free DNS hosting or email forwarding, for the DNS records and forwarding addresses you set up.
- Our email delivery provider, to send you service emails.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to deal with domain abuse under .gy Registry policies.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that the site needs to work. These include a secure login cookie for the Client Area, which lasts up to 7 days, and a cookie that remembers an affiliate referral if you arrived through a partner link. We don’t use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep registrant and payment records for as long as you hold a domain with us, and afterwards for as long as we need them for legal, tax and dispute purposes. Saved searches and marketing follow-ups stop if you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Your choices and rights
- Update your contact details at any time in your Client Area.
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Some information must be kept while a domain is registered or for legal reasons.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any of them. Service emails about your domain will continue.

Security
We use HTTPS throughout, protect administrator accounts with two-factor authentication, and limit access to customer information to the people who need it to provide the service.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we’ll also tell customers by email.
